Making research visible—the IfKW pursues this goal with a wide range of lively publications. Scientists at the institute regularly publish their work in leading national and international journals, book series, and anthologies.
The publications reflect the thematic diversity of the institute—from political communication, media psychology, and science communication to digital publics, journalism, communication ethics, and methodological research. In addition to empirical studies and theoretical contributions, the IfKW also produces practice-oriented publications that bridge the gap between research and application.
In addition, members of the institute are involved as editors and reviewers in renowned scientific journals and publication series, thus actively contributing to the further development of communication science.

The IfKW is regularly well represented at national and international conferences. Researchers of all qualification levels present current studies, theoretical approaches, and methodological innovations here—from basic research to application-oriented projects.
Participation in conferences such as the DGPuK, ICA, ECREA, as well as conferences in related disciplines and methodological societies, highlights the thematic diversity, interdisciplinary openness, and international visibility of the IfKW. Our contributions help to shed light on key issues in social communication, promote scientific exchange, and critically accompany current developments.
In addition to traveling to other locations, the IfKW also regularly acts as a host institution for conferences, workshops, and the DGPuK.
